Women, Trans, and Nonbinary Beginner Ultimate Frisbee Clinic

August 19, 2026 at 12:00 AMClinton Park

Portland Ultimate is offering a 4-week clinic for new and beginner players who identify as women, trans (masc or fem), or gender nonconforming (nonbinary, gender fluid, etc.). This clinic is for those who identify as beginners; whether you've never touched a disc or have played some and would like to improve your throws and/or understanding of the game. By the end of the four weeks you will make friends, improve your game, and feel confident to join one of our fall leagues which begin shortly after your last class. Our clinic will be led by experienced woman-matching and gender expansive-matching ultimate players who will teach you the fundamentals of the sport in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. The coaches are players in our PU leagues, and can offer additional support transitioning into league play. The sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings, 6 pm - 8 pm, from 8/19-9/9. The location of this clinic is permit pending, but we have requested Clinton Park Upper Field. Take this opportunity to learn the how to play ultimate frisbee or continue to improve your skills. Cost is $20 (disc included). If you join a fall league then the cost of this class will be credited toward your registration cost. PU does not want the cost of programs to be a barrier to anyone participating. Please contact us at [email protected] if you require a further discount. Portland Ultimate is always striving to create spaces where everyone feels welcome to play and have fun. Many of our leagues are "mixed" meaning mixed gender. We strive to make these mixed leagues welcoming to people of all gender identities and keep teams evenly matched. Click here to learn more about PU's Inclusion Policy for Mixed Play.
